“NO ROOM FOR JESUS!”

Luke 2:7, “And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn. “
Introduction
The 911 incident brought many from their homes to packed the churches. Re-dedication of lives was on the increase. In other words, church attendance was at an all time high. However, as soon as the dust settled some church goers went back to doing their normal. Now we are in a pandemic and attendance is very slim because of the outbreak of COVID-19. Spreading the Word of God has taken over the air waves on Sunday mornings and during the week. However, not only is there a pandemic in America, but there is also an outbreak and overflow of hatred. The devil is on a rampage going up and down the earth realm seeking whom he may devour. In my sanctified imagination, many don’t have room for Jesus. We’ve gotten away from WWJD to WIGD (what I’m gonna do). Some have room for arguing, lying, stealing, misbehaving, and many other devious things. However, few have room for Jesus. Jesus has not only been forgotten by the sinner, He has been forgotten by many Christians as well. Listen, some may be busy doing good things and they don’t have time to worship Him. NO ROOM FOR JESUS! There is no room...
I. IN OUR HABITS
When you think about it, all of us have some habits. Some good and some bad! Just what is a habit? Well a habit is something you can do without thinking; that’s why most of us have so many of them. A habit is like a cable, you weave a thread in it everyday, and at last it becomes to strong to break. Then bad habits are like comfortable beds, easy to get into but hard to get out of. And when you have all these habits that are taking place in your life, and they are done naturally, without thinking about them, you can easily become to occupied with them, leaving no room for Jesus. If you don’t make it a habit of praying before you eat you leave no room for Jesus. If you don’t make it a habit of praying after you wake up and before your go to bed, you leave no room for Jesus. Jesus had a habitual prayer life. It’s impossible to be like Him and there’s no room for Him in your habits. There are some who are habitual liars. They lie just to be lying. In others words they have become recreational liars. Have you ever seen someone enjoying themselves as they lie repeatedly? There are some like Pinocchio; when they lie something happens that gives them away. But then there are others who are smooth with lying. They’ve lied so much until they think that they are telling the truth. May I suggest to you today that it’s a blessing in telling the truth. Why? First, if you tell the truth you won’t have worry about remembering what you said, because the truth don’t change. Secondly, the Word says, “Know the truth and the truth will make you free. With these bad habits embedded in your spirit it causes for there to No Room for Jesus in our ...
II. IN OUR HOMES
What’s going on in homes in these last days. A home use to be a place that everybody looked forward to coming at the end of the day. Why? It was the place where the parents would relax and talk about their day. They had only a few rooms in the house and they spent more time together. There was more socializing back then. Now days everyone goes to their room and do what they do. Back then they sat down, thanked God and enjoyed a well prepared meal together. Grace was offered and there wasn’t much talking during the meal. In my home growing up, we talked and song while we waited on Momma to finish preparing the meal. Today, both parents work and there’s a lot of fast food being eaten. And a lot of times the meals are taken to different rooms. Technology has taken the place of family time in the home. We are watching TV in different rooms. Back then we only had on TV… If it’s not the TV, the children are playing games on their phones or today’s gadgets. Texting and talking and 95% of the time the text or talk is not about Jesus. We need Jesus in our homes. With Jesus in our homes parents won’t disagree and become violent toward each other as often. And should they happen to disagree, with Jesus in the home they will know how to come to a peaceful resolution. Well, with bad habits and corrupt homes, because of No Room For Jesus, it’s all because of a Heart Problem…No Room for Jesus...
III. IN OUR HEARTS
Yes the Bible declares in Jeremiah 17:9, “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?” Because the heart is deceitful and wicked man have a tendency to harbor ungodly things. Some are stockpiling hurt from the past in their hearts which develops into bitterness. Bitterness is like a poisonous vine which wraps itself around your emotions, penetrate your thoughts, choke the life from your soul. It robs your of your joy and peace. God said, “ I will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on thee.” Bitterness will hijack you, taking you places you don’t want to go, cause you to do things you don’t want to do, and have you becoming who you never wanted to be. May I suggest to you not to harbor bitterness in your heart. Make room for Jesus! Then there are others who have been harboring anger in their hearts. They’ve been mad every since January and every month they got madder. You see it started out being mad with one or two, now it’s escalated to being mad with everyone. I’m not talking about worldly folks, but church folks. The Bible tells us in Eph. 4:26-27 (ESV), “Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, and give no opportunity to the devil.” My brothers and sisters when you harbor anger in your hearts you are only giving the devil an opportunity to wreck your day. Then in the 31st verse of the same chapter Paul says, “Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with malice.” You see there’s no room for Jesus when your heart is filled with ungodly things. I just wanna admonish every heart to prepare Him room as we listen to heaven and nature sing…That night there was no room in the inn for Jesus! The people were preparing for the Messiah, but they weren’t ready for Him to come this way...
